Minitel Rose

Minitel Rose harkens back to the days of puffy unicorn stickers and bright neon pink Reeboks. One of the Valerie Collective elite, Minitel call themselves "warrior flash dancers" and create music that dreams are made of.

Hailing from Western France, the band is comprised of Quentin, Raphael, and Romain. The trio are inspired by "our childhood, the girls, the 80’s American movies" and A-Team and Knightrider. Their debt mini-album, The French Machine, is a stellar collection of glam and 80s nostalgia that is not to be missed.

Salone del Mobile 2009

I've been creating soundtracks for the Versace installation at the Salone Del Mobile expo in Milan for the past three years. Each year the theme is completely different and ranges from space travel to natural elements like fire, water and wind. This year, Versace wanted something different and decidedly more disco.

The words "disco" are like manna from heaven for me, so it was a blast compiling this year's mix. I tried to encompass a range of styles, from contemporary French disco to 1970s era Italo-disco, with a little electro pop sprinkled atop. Enjoy.

Mad Men Mini-Mix

Mad Men is an television drama series set in the early 1960s at the fictional Sterling Cooper advertising agency on New York City's Madison Avenue. The show centers on a high-level advertising creative director, and the people in his life in and out of the office. It also depicts the changing social mores of 1960s America.

The show has received widespread critical acclaim, particularly for its historical authenticity and visual style. It's jazzy, early 1960s-era soundtrack in particular effectively places Mad Men a very stylized context and gives it flare.

The mix below is inspired by both the show and the era, and draws on a wide range of both classic and modern artists.
